COUNSELLING PSYCHOLOGIST

Thinking Aloud

When I write songs I experience that, inherent in every word or syllable, is already included a musical quality, sound, tempo and rhythm. All that is required of me, the composer, is to tune in and express what is already there.

Working as a psychologist is much the same.

For me each person represents a unique performer who already owns a unique instrument that contains all the timbres, rhythms and nuances to make exceptionally beautiful music. All of us face the challenge to discover and unlock the unique, fragile and imperfect tones of that "instrument", so that each in their own way can learn to risk playing it without fear or regret and to become part of the greater orchestra of life.

So, whether you are a Piccolo or a Cello, a Harp or a Bassoon, embrace your instrument, find your sound and play, play, play!
